Public Speaking for Teens

Public speaking is one of the most powerful skills a teenager can acquire.

Whether it’s a school presentation, a presentation of their work, or simply the ability to express their opinions clearly and confidently, the way they speak significantly affects the image they create in the minds of others.

Public Speaking for Teens is a dynamic, interactive two-session training program designed specifically for teenagers.

Its goal is to help them develop the skills they need to communicate effectively, manage their anxiety, and present their ideas in a structured and persuasive way in front of an audience.

At the end of the training, participants will have the tools they need to express themselves clearly, confidently, and in a structured manner.

Day 1

Theory and Preparation (4 hours)

  1.   Nonverbal communication:
  • How to use body language, eye contact, gestures, and facial expressions to communicate confidence and interest.
  • Identifying habits that may distract or create the wrong impression.

  1.   Emotional intelligence:
  • Techniques for recognizing and managing emotions (e.g., anxiety, tension) before and during a speech.

  1.   Cicero Framework for Public Speaking:

The Cicero Framework is a methodology with specific steps that helps structure speeches in a highly effective way.

From deciding on the topic and its characteristics, the main points, and the words to be used, to identifying the points where we will use the appropriate gestures and expressions to convey our message correctly.

In this part of the training, the methodology and steps to be followed are explained in detail, and a complete speech (pilot) is presented, incorporating all the above technical characteristics.

At the end of the meeting, each participant chooses a topic to present at the next meeting.

Day 2:

Practical Application

  • 15-minute public speaking simulation:

After preparing their speech, each participant presents it following all the steps of the methodology. The speech is recorded so that it can be discussed afterwards.

  •    Analysis and feedback:

Screening of the video of the speech.

Group discussion on strengths and areas for improvement.

Personalized suggestions for improvement.

Benefits of Participation:

Development of skills with long-term benefits: Communication skills are valuable both in school and academic pursuits and in professional careers.

Improved self-confidence: Practicing public speaking helps teenagers express themselves with confidence and face any situation calmly.

Combination of theory and practice: Participants are not limited to theoretical knowledge, but also practice through practical applications.

The program takes place mainly on weekends and involves a maximum of six children per group, with the option of one-on-one training also available.
